Four of us had dinner tonight here. Food was amazing and the place is so peaceful inside with all the water fountains. The dishes we ordered looked exactly like the pictures we saw online that brought us here! The eggplant appetizer was soooooo good and we loved the stuffed grape leaves. The falafel plate was outstanding and looked like it was a work of art! One of us had steak and another had chicken shawarma ... both had tons of flavor and tasted amazing. This was our first time here as we made flu shot appointments up the street at Walgreens and decided last minute to check yelp for places nearby. The chef send us complimentary pastries. Our server was very attentive and very friendly. Overall it was a fantastic find and we will come back again for sure! Highly recommend this place!!

This is probably your best bet on James Street! Delicious Syrian food. I've eaten here a number of times and I have never been disappointed. Lamb kofta, falafel plate, just a big bowl of hummus ... Anything is delightful! Note that they do go heavy on balsamic reductions, so if you do not enjoy that, be sure to ask for less of it. I personally quite enjoy it! The little picked veggies that come with the dinner are also a powerfully pickled delight. The Turkish coffee is an experience, very strong, very concentrated, as it is meant to be. The baclava is delightful, fresh, nutty, and sweet. The owner is a lovely person. Tonight, he gifted me with a free ring! Isn't that thoughtful? Do check this place out. It has a lovely plant-filled atmosphere. There is even a fountain. The waitress was also very nice, and intrusive but attentive. This would be a nice spot for a romantic dinner, as long as you don't mind the hum of the coolers- but this does afford one some privacy with one's conversations!

This place is great!!! Real Middle Eastern food in Syracuse!!! The restaurant has been refurbished. The non-dairy ice cream is a specialty from Damascus. Slow, casual service, as in Europe. Suggestion... if you like your meat cooked medium, better to ask in advance. https://www.syracuse.com/restaurants/2022/09/syrian-refugee-in-syracuse-invents-new-rotary-grill-to-deal-with-staff-shortages-video.ht

Wonderful, authentic middle eastern restaurant! Small, but inviting. The owner greeted us with a huge smile and immediately gestured toward the spit, where a whole actual lamb was being roasted over coals. The lamb was the special of the day. That's what I had, and it was crispy and smoky on the outside and moist and juicy on the inside. We had their version of kibbeh, which is normally a ground beef and bulgur mix in a crispy fried shell. We also had hummus, which the owner makes fresh on site daily. My husband had the falafel wrap, which was seasoned well and had a tart, crisp, refreshing burst of pickled veggies inside. We bought one of everything from his sweets counter. So much sweet and tart and savory! We loved everything. And all of this authentic, lovingly made food was so affordable! Several neighborhood people came in to order to-go. Regulars helped new people know what to order. Someone mentioned that Sinbad had the best falafel they'd ever had. The owner only had one staff member helping. You could see him working at light speed, wiping his brow, doing multiple tasks at once. Service took a while, but was always with a smile. He never let us feel neglected. So please keep that in mind! We will be returning, and I encourage you to support this restaurant, with one of the nicest and most joyous owners we've ever met!
